Q – Quite Worth It!

September 3, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Sorry, had to do that. Heh.

And now, we have a Q in Mt Kisco!   Woo hoo!  It’s in a little plaza next to the UPS store (my favorite — it’s where I take my Zappo’s returns and my eBay sales, such nice guys), and across the street from the bagel place where I had the, um, altercation with the Mean Nanny.  Oh!  next to that place is the Mail Boxes store that must have done a heck of a business a few weeks ago, during the weekend of the missing, replaced, and relocated mailboxes in our neighborhood.  Geez.  I thought that NY kids would be more creative than the midwestern kids, on the weekend.  But I digress.

Q is a quick-serve for those who want to sit down.  The counter is staffed by incredibly patient young people who didn’t reach over and slap any of the customers who got up to the front of the 20-deep lineand said, “now, how does this work?”  ::note to the workers:  next time I’m in, just give me the high sign and I’ll do it for you.  glad to.::

Pulled pork, brisket, chicken, ribs, burgers, chopped salads, fries, sandwiches, and a Q-club sandwich were on the menu, and pie (mmm, pie) and some cakes, too. So what if we get the same stuff as the Q in PortChester?  At least it’s good stuff.  I don’t have that nagging feeling that I get from the fancy “outpost” restaurants, that they sent all the good stuff to someplace that isn’t down the street from a Friendly’s.  Right now, the staff is a little green (clashes a bit with the orange decor, but they’re such nice people).  Our favorite dining room worker would swing by our table, ask if we needed anything.  When we said yes and told him, he just sort of wandered off until we flagged him down again.  It really was funny.  He was probably muttering to himself as he walked away each time,”I asked if you needed something — didn’t say a $@#! thing about me getting it for you!  yeesh!”

I took the Qcorn home so I could cut if off the cob easily, and it’s now on the list of things I intend to eat when the braces come off.  I forgot to snag my Mason Jar that my sweet tea was served in,dang it.  Please, remember — if they give you these cool jars, they are yours!

So, Q:  Go.  Eat.  Even if they don’t have their beer license yet, it’s still a good place to hang out.  It’s open 7 days for lunch and for dinner
