The floors are stained and the sealant is sealing. Lookie look:
How glorious is this? (don’t tell me, I know: SO glorious). This is making paint selection much easier.
A cyber-smooch to HeyAnnette for the link to the sound track for “Life.” That song by Molotov is my new favorite. It beat the one-two combination of “I Wanna Be Sedated/Beat On The Brat” for my favorite warmup song. Even though I still want to. Warmup, silly. Okay, beat on the brat. But not with a baseball bat,oh yeah.
Fabby’s Blogstats:
Number of hours spent trying to figure out how to make the little teensy photos on this site pop to large sized when you click on them: Lost count at 1 1/2 (but a shout-out to AE John for telling me that there’s a way to do it. I will figure this out — your beautiful work should be visible for all to see.)
High-strung automobiles owned by the FoodBabe Family: Three (100%). Number of them which are BMWs or Jaguars: Zero. ZEE-Freaking-RO. It just doesn’t seem fair, but there it is.
Neighbors angered in the past 24 hours: One (I’m still terribly sorry — Jean-Luc was just smelling your daughters. I’m sorry they and you don’t like dogs. There was no need to scream at me for ten minutes, though.)
Sons at college who wear guyliner but only on Halloween: One. It’s a little unnerving to have him write, “please send [various supplies] and don’t forget my nail polish.” Seriously, he dressed like Billie Joe Armstrong last year and looked, um, great. If he gives me any grief at Thanksgiving, I’ll post the photos of him in full regalia.
El Secondo sticks with the more traditional costumery: Every year, he’s the Halloween Gorilla. It’s hysterical.
The happy dance is getting more frenzied by the moment: a fully loaded iPod, a kitchen with amazing cabinets and Nanawalls and extremely cool pendant lights, a paint color that looks great with the floors, the cabinets, and my hair; a kid coming home in five weeks and a kid looking for a job this weekend — and a garage full of appliances.
Mr. Foodbabe thinks the happy dances could be varnish-fume-induced. I say I’m plain old happy.
That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it.
